One of the greatest mistakes a person can make is placing their trust in men. People can fail at any moment, and even governments—established to serve and protect—can fall short of their responsibilities. Why? Because they are run by imperfect human beings. The Bible warns, “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.” (Jeremiah 17:5).
I have seen many talented individuals with great potential, yet they rely solely on the government for a better future. That is unwise. The key to success lies in trusting God first and making good use of the work of your hands. As Scripture says, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” (Psalm 118:8).
Do not be deceived into believing that any human can guarantee you a better tomorrow. Even those closest to you—family, friends, and leaders—can disappoint you in ways you never imagined. “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:2). No human effort or promise can replace God’s unfailing support.
Be wise about where you place your trust. Not everyone is worthy of it. Even if you must start over, do not waste your energy on those who do not deserve it. Instead, put your trust in the One who will never fail you. In Him, you will find true peace and a fulfilling life. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5).
After all the struggles and hardships of life, many still refuse to turn to God. Yet, He offers the kind of rest and peace that no man can provide. As Jesus invites us, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).
Surrender your desires to the One true God, and He will never let you down.
